Coupons

Coupons are created manually in OverDrive, supporting dollar or percent discounts on parts and on labor. Unlike VAST, OverDrive lets a coupon carry both a start date and an end date, so it expires automatically with no manual deactivation step. Derek owns OverDrive coupon management.

When this applies

A new coupon is issued, or an existing coupon's active window changes, and it needs to be available in OverDrive.

The process

  1. When a new coupon is issued, manually create it in OverDrive with a start date and an end date, using Part $/% or Labor $/% as applicable. (Retail Team — Derek)
  2. Set the OverDrive end date three to four days after the coupon's true expiry as a grace buffer, so a customer who arrives just after expiry can still redeem it — this is Derek's standing practice. (Retail Team — Derek)

Go-live & cutover notes

  • Because OverDrive auto-expires coupons on their end date, no manual deactivation is needed — Adam Sanders' manual monthly expire step in VAST doesn't apply to OverDrive, and he can be removed from the OverDrive coupon process. (Retail Team — Derek)
